# Copywriting & Content Subject Matter Expert (SME)
## About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Copywriting & Content Subject Matter Expert to support AI training and evaluation through high-quality marketing and content expertise. In this fully remote, part-time contract role, you will review AI-generated writing outputs and/or create expert-level copy and content while evaluating reasoning quality, intent alignment, accuracy, clarity, brand fit, tone, and adherence to prompts.
You will help improve AI models by identifying weaknesses in messaging, audience targeting, factual accuracy, reasoning, structure, style, and potential compliance risks. You will also create gold-standard examples and provide precise, actionable feedback that demonstrates strong copywriting and content strategy techniques.
## Key Responsibilities
* Review AI-generated marketing and content-writing outputs for quality, accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness.
* Create expert-level copy and content across multiple formats and industries to support AI training.
* Develop detailed prompts and gold-standard copy/content that demonstrate high-quality writing techniques.
* Evaluate AI responses for reasoning quality, intent alignment, brand voice, tone, and adherence to prompts.
* Identify issues involving logic, messaging, audience targeting, structure, style, factual accuracy, and compliance risk.
* Fact-check claims and statements where necessary.
* Test AI-generated content for inaccurate information, hallucinated claims, bias, unsafe advice, and potential brand-risk issues.
* Evaluate AI outputs for clarity, persuasion, tone matching, and factual reliability.
* Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on effectiveness, correctness, and reasoning quality.
* Provide specific and actionable written feedback.
* Create high-quality rewrites and model outputs with clear rationale.
* Support evaluation of AI performance across different content use cases.
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* 5+ years of professional experience in copywriting, content writing, editorial, content marketing, or brand storytelling.
* Strong command of brand voice, tone adaptation, and audience-aware writing across B2B and/or B2C contexts.
* Ability to evaluate and improve writing for clarity, structure, persuasion, and consistency.
* Experience working with headlines, calls to action (CTAs), and narrative flow.
* Ability to identify and correct factual errors, weak reasoning, overclaims, and potential compliance issues.
* Familiarity with common content formats, including landing pages, email campaigns, blog posts, advertisements, social media posts, product copy, scripts, and long-form guides.
* Ability to provide specific, actionable feedback and produce high-quality rewrites with supporting rationale.
* Minimum C1 English proficiency.
* Reliable, self-directed, and able to maintain consistent quality in a remote contractor environment across time zones.

* Prior experience with AI data training or annotation.
