Description
Join our EMEA Distribution team
Location: Venlo
At Arthrex, our mission is “Helping surgeons treat their patients better.” Behind that mission is an international supply chain that needs to run reliably every day. As a Distribution Operator EMEA, you help keep that operation moving by making sure transportation activities are processed accurately and shipments are followed from pick-up through delivery.
You will work in an international logistics environment, where you will process transport orders, prepare shipping documentation, book transportation, communicate with carriers and colleagues, and monitor ongoing shipments. Whether you are checking documentation, following up on a delivery, or handling a service request, accuracy, reliability and good communication are key.
Are you organized, service-oriented and interested in developing your experience in international transportation and logistics? Then this could be a great next step for you.
What will you do?
As a Distribution Operator EMEA, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and follow-up of assigned transportation activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing daily transportation activities according to established procedures and team priorities.
- Creating, checking and issuing transportation and shipping documentation.
- Booking transport services according to defined service, cost and approval guidelines.
- Communicating with carriers and internal and external contacts about pick-ups, delivery schedules, shipment status, Proof of Delivery (POD) and standard delivery-related questions.
- Monitoring shipments and completing the required follow-up steps.
- Maintaining accurate transportation data in systems such as SAP, ticketing tools, SharePoint and carrier portals.
- Supporting the correct application of requirements related to Incoterms, GDP, Dangerous Goods and other relevant operational procedures.
- Handling standard shipment exceptions and service requests and escalating non-standard situations when additional support is required.
- Recording incidents and collecting the information needed for further follow-up.
- Flagging deviations related to transportation costs, surcharges, service levels or compliance requirements.
- Identifying recurring operational or data-quality issues and sharing these with the appropriate team member or supervisor.
- Suggesting opportunities to improve process stability, data quality and operational efficiency.
How will you work?
You will be part of an international environment and work with different operational teams, carriers and other internal and external contacts.
Good collaboration and clear communication are therefore an important part of the role. You will:
- Provide clear and concise updates on assigned tasks, shipments and identified issues.
- Work with colleagues and operational partners according to established processes and instructions.
- Share approved procedures and existing training materials with colleagues when needed.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
What are we looking for?
You do not need to know everything from day one. We are looking for someone with a good foundation in logistics or a related field who works accurately, enjoys an operational environment and is willing to develop further.
Ideally, you have:
- Completed vocational training in logistics, transportation, freight, commerce or a comparable field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Some practical experience in transportation, logistics operations, order processing or a comparable operational environment.
- Experience with shipment documentation, carrier communication, shipment tracking or order-to-delivery processes is an advantage.
- A structured, accurate and reliable way of working.
- Clear communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- The ability to follow established procedures, recognize deviations and escalate when further action is required.
- The ability to work professionally with colleagues and different operational contacts.
- Fluent English language skills. German and/or Dutch is an advantage.
Systems and logistics knowledge
Experience with some of the following systems or areas is an advantage:
- SAP
- MS Dynamics or comparable ticketing systems
- SharePoint and MS Office
- Carrier booking and tracking portals
- Transportation services and shipping documentation
- Incoterms
- Dangerous Goods
- GDP and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Don't tick every box yet? That's okay. What's important is that you are comfortable working with operational systems, understand the importance of accurate documentation and data, and are willing to learn.
International environment
As part of our EMEA operation, you will work in an international environment where English is used regularly.
